A grant was made to a Battersea Primary School, to support a Year 6 trip to Marchants Hill PGL Centre. Our support for educational trips like this has allowed pupils from more deprived conditions to enjoy enriching educational experiences.
We sponsored the Social Dance Classes for the over 60s at Battersea Arts Centre, as part of our support for the elderly, and to ensure such valuable activities continued during restoration of the building, after the fire. www.bac.org.uk/content/39409/to_archive/social_dance_classes
Over many years, we have been one of the main sponsors of Battersea Summer Scheme’s ‘Sport in the Park’ event. Large numbers of young people were able to enjoy and appreciate the activities provided. Our grant sponsored the Judo. www.batterseasummerscheme.org.uk
A grant was made to help fund an International Citizen’s Service (ICS) placement for a young Battersea resident to enhance their development and career prospects. The placement was to a location in Africa and focused around the livelihoods and well-being of vulnerable children, young people, women, and those with disabilities.
The charity has worked in partnership with other local agencies, in support of their work, by providing small grants to families in need, and sometimes crisis – helping buy clothing, furniture and other items for children.
Funding was provided to Providence House in support of their ‘City Family Getaway’. The exercise involved taking parents and their children away to Shallowford Farm – this was the first time that they have taken parents along to share the experience with their children. The objective was to help build a tighter family unit. http://shallowfordfarm.co.uk/
